Hollywood actor, Johnny Depp has lost his libel battle against a British tabloid that labeled him a ‘wife beater’. This is after a London High Court judge ruled he had repeatedly assaulted his ex-wife, actor Amber Heard.
Judge Andrew Nicol said he accepted claims from the actor’s ex-wife, actress Amber Heard, that Depp had violently assaulted her during their five-year-old marriage.
“I have found that the great majority of alleged assaults of Ms Heard by Mr Depp have been proved to the civil standard,” said Nicol. “The claimant has not succeeded in his action for libel.”
This ruling could significantly affect Depp’s career and image.
