The Rvers state judiciary has denied claims by the Emohua Council Chairman – Hon. Chidi Lloyd that a notorious kidnapper, Nwoburoke Nwosu popularly known as Abiotu was released by the Chief Judge of the state – Simeon Amadi during the recent jail delivery exercise.
Lloyd had in a statement claimed that Abiotu was granted pardon during the delivery exercise.
However, Chief Registrar of the State High Court – David Ihua Maduenyi in a statement on Wednesday debunked the claim. He said the release of 56 inmates followed strict compliance with the law.
He stated that no inmate whose matter is still pending in court was considered for the exercise.
