The people of Iwofe community, have carried out a massive protest against the Nigeria Navy Ship Pathfinder, Iwofe, Port Harcourt, for detaining some members of the community.
According to reports, some leaders of the community were arrested after they had gone to honor the invitation of the command, to resolve certain issues.
The act, angered indigenes of the community who took to the streets to protest against what they termed, “intidimation and harassment” by the Navy.
Sources say the issues between the Navy and the host community, is as a result of the Navy’s refusal to allow a marine company it has hosted for over 10 years interface with the community.
