Ivorian beauty queen Yacé, who emerged fourth runner-up and secured the continental crown for Africa and Oceania at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant, has stepped down from her title.
In a statement released on her official Facebook page on Monday, Yacé said her decision followed the dramatic conclusion of the Miss Universe finale in Bangkok and was driven by her desire to remain aligned with her personal values and principles.
She reflected on her journey at the global pageant, noting that representing Côte d’Ivoire on the Miss Universe stage demonstrated her resilience. “I proved I am capable of achieving great things despite adversity. The competition tested my strength, determination, and readiness to overcome challenges,” she wrote.
Yacé, however, stressed that holding the title must be consistent with the ideals she upholds. “To continue, I must remain true to my pillars: respect, dignity, excellence, and equal opportunity,” she said.
