The U.S. Embassy in Abuja has cancelled all visa appointments scheduled for Wednesday, March 4, 2026, citing the potential for protests in the Federal Capital Territory.
In a notice issued to applicants, the embassy said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of staff and visitors.
“All visa appointments on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, have been cancelled due to the potential for protests in Abuja. Applicants will be contacted with information on how to reschedule,” the statement read.
The embassy advised affected applicants to monitor its official website and social media platforms for further updates regarding new appointment dates and other consular services.
