The Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB), has accused the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma of killing a top Commander of the Eastern Security Network ESN, identified as ‘Ikonson’ for turning down his request to lead the South East Regional Security Outfit, ‘EbubeAgu.’
Ikonson who was alleged to have led attacks on Police facilities in the state, was murdered on Saturday, after a raid at his camp in Awomanma, Imo State, by a team of joint military personnel made up of the Police, Nigerian Army and DSS.
IPOB, in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, shortly after the incident described Ikoson’s death as very painful, while promising to avenge his death.
“The killing of the heroic innocent Biafrans protecting our communities and towns from Fulani terrorist herdsmen masquerading as cattle herders in cold blood is very painful,” he said.
“Hope Uzodinma and all those who had a hand in this wickedness will pay dearly. Hope Uzodinma and his cowardly Nigerian security agencies cannot confront Fulani terrorists but only flex their muscles when they see Biafra agitators.
“For murdering Ikonso, the ESN unit COMMANDER in a cold blood, Uzodima has stirred the hornet nest! He should get ready for a sting,” he added.
