The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, has called on Governors of the South South region to organize a stakeholders meeting to address the high level of insecurity in the region.
Spokesperson of the party in the state, Ogbonna Nwuke disclosed this in a statement in Port Harcourt, on Monday.
He said the rate of insecurity being witnessed in Rivers State and the South South region, was worrisome, as residents now live in fear.
Nwuke said the issues on ground has nothing to do with politics, stating that all hands must be on deck to ensure the protection of lives and properties.
He called on the state government and security agencies to live up to expectation, and address the rising spate of insecurity in the state and the region.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Government has reviewed the state-wide curfew it earlier imposed. The curfew will now begin from 7:00 pm to 6:00 am, starting from Tuesday, May 11, 2021.
