The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Rivers State has cautioned eligible voters against engaging in double registration in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise.
Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Gabriel Yomere, issued the warning in Port Harcourt, stressing that the Commission maintains a zero-tolerance stance on the practice and that offenders will face prosecution.
Yomere also encouraged Nigerians to take the physical phase of the registration seriously, outlining the basic documents required before applicants can be captured.
Meanwhile, some new registrants who completed their physical registration at the Port Harcourt City Local Government office shared their experiences with our correspondent. The CVR exercise is currently ongoing across designated centers in Rivers State.
