The Chairman of Labour Party in Rivers State, Hon. Favour Reuben says the Independent National Electoral Commission, should takeover the conduct of local government elections.
Hon. Reuben said this during a media parley in Port Harcourt on Monday.
He said ruling parties in states will continue to win all elected seats, until INEC begin to conduct local government elections.
He said it is difficult for any opposition party to win a single seat in LG elections, as state governments control the poll.
Hon Reuben also said what transpired in Rivers State, is not different from what transpires in other states during LG polls.
Meanwhile the Inter Party Advisory Council IPAC, in Rivers State has said that there was nothing wrong with last Saturday’s election, as it was free, fair and credible.
He said the Council will not challenge the outcome of the election in the law courts.
