The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has said that the Permanent Voter Cards discovered in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, have been handed over to Security agencies for investigation.
May Agbamuche, INEC National Commissioner in charge of Rivers, Delta and Cross River States, said this during a chat with journalists in Port Harcourt, Today.
She stated that despite the discovery, no PVC is missing in Obio Akpor and other Local Government Areas, according to Electoral officers.
May, also decried the low collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Rivers State, and urged those that have registered to go and get their cards.
She revealed that out of 54,945 cards received, only 10,373 have been collected.
“with regards to the distribution of new PVCs, a total of 54,945 have been received but only 10,373 have been collected so far, leaving an outstanding balance of 44,572,” she said.
