The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Rivers State has announced the establishment of Mega Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) centres across Port Harcourt metropolis to boost participation in the ongoing second phase of the voter registration exercise.
Mrs. Geraldine Ekelemu, Head of Voter Education and Publicity, in a statement said the special registration exercise will run from Tuesday, April 7 to Sunday, April 12, 2026, for six days, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. daily.
INEC said the initiative is aimed at expanding access for eligible citizens who have attained the age of 18, as well as those seeking transfer of registration, replacement of lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and correction of voter records.
The designated Mega CVR centres include University of Port Harcourt (New Convocation Arena), Rivers State University (Love Garden), Mile 3 Market (Union Office), Waterlines Park (RTC Park), Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (Old Lecture Hall), and Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic (SU Hall).
The Commission urged residents, particularly students and those within the metropolis, to take advantage of the opportunity to register and update their voter information.
INEC reaffirmed its commitment to promoting inclusivity, transparency, and credibility in Nigeria’s electoral process.
