The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise ahead of the 2025 general elections will begin this August.

In a statement released on Friday via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, INEC revealed that online pre-registration will commence on Monday, August 18, 2025, through its portal: cvr.inecnigeria.org.

The Commission also disclosed that in-person registration will follow from Monday, August 25, 2025, at all INEC Local Government Area offices and other designated registration centres across the country.

The exercise will run on weekdays—Mondays to Fridays—from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

INEC urged all eligible Nigerians who are yet to register to take advantage of the exercise.
