A Civil Society Organisation (CSO), Egbema Voice of Freedom (EVF), has called on Governor, Nyesom Wike to assist families affected by the explosion at the illegal bunkering site in Imo State.
Leader of the group, Nicholas Everestus who made the call in a statement, few days ago, alleged that over 30 Rivers indigenes were among victims of the disaster.
According to him, those who lost their lives hailed from Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, adding that government at all levels need to condole with the affected families.
“We want to ask why the state government, even the local government, denied the fact that people from Aggah, Mgbede, and Okwuzi communities are part of this disaster. We are saying the Federal Government should condole with the Rivers people and Governor Wike should know that Rivers indigenes are affected,” he said.
“We heard yesterday that he donated N200 million to Kaduna State, let him also extend that magnanimity to bereaved families of that are from Rivers State,” he added.
