The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers, Hon. Samuel Nwanosike has placed a ban on the operation of motorcycles in the 13 wards of the council from 7:00pm to 6:00am till further notice.
Secretary of the council, Elder Bright Agbovu disclosed this in a statement Today.
According to him, the council boss said the ban was necessitated by the widespread of cult activities within the neighbouring local government areas in which motorcycles have become a quick means of movement to perpetrate mayhem in the areas.
Nwanosike directed motorcycle operators within the area to immediately comply to the banning order and charged security agencies to execute the order with immediate effect.
