The Executive Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Engr. Samuel Nwanosike has confirmed the killing of an Airforce official, Eugene Endurance by an OSPAC member, Progress Emecheta at Omanwa community, yesterday.
Nwanosike in a statement today, condemned the incident, adding that the suspect has been arrested by the police.
He said local vigilante members have no right to take laws into their hands and that his administration would ensure the security of lives and properties.
Elder brother to the deceased in a chat with journalists, said his late brother who returned home for Christmas, was shot dead by the OSPAC member after a minor argument. That, was after he had gone to release their younger one arrested by the group.
He called on the relevant authorities to ensure justice is served in the matter.
Meanwhile, Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Koko also confirmed the incident, adding that investigation is on and all those found wanting would face justice.
