A State High court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State has adjourned the murder case involving four dismissed E-crack police officers.
The officers were accused of killing Chima Ikwunado and torturing four other men, who were in Police custody.
The matter has been adjourned to January 22, February 11 and 17, 2021 for continuation.
The trial judge, Justice Florence Fibresima yesterday, adjourned the case to the said dates after listening to arguments from both parties.
One of the surviving Ikokwu four, Ifeanyi Onyekwere had earlier told the court that himself and the late Chima, were hung upside down by the officers on the day they were arrested till the following morning.
He said the act, coupled with the incessant torture, led to the death of Chima who until his death was an automobile mechanic at the Ikokwu spare parts market.
