Obio/Akpor Council Chairman, Chijioke Ihunwo has vowed not to disappoint youths of the LGA.
Ihunwo, made this known in a statement when the state Commissioner – Ministry of Youth Development, Hon. Chisom Gbali paid him a courtesy visit on Tuesday.
He said, “I was pleased to receive the Commissioner for Rivers State Ministry of Youth Development, Dr. Chisom Gbali, and the Permanent Secretary of Rivers State Ministry of Youth Development, Mrs Ruhuoma Chinedu Kejeh, alongside other staff and appointees of the ministry, today in my office at Obio/Akpor Council Secretariat.
Our discussions were centered on establishing a strategic collaboration between the council and the ministry.
I assured the Commissioner and his team that we will not disappoint the ministry and the young people in my local government. I also let them know that my emergence as the local government Chairman of Obio/Akpor will not make me forget my root as a youth leader in Rivers State.
I told the ministry that the council will draw up a template for economic growth of young people in the local government as well as a succession plan.
