The immediate past Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area and ally of suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has dismissed reports claiming he has defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing them as “false and malicious.”
In a public statement issued on Wednesday, the former council boss clarified that he remains fully committed to Governor Fubara and has no intention of leaving his current political alignment.
“I want to make it unequivocally clear that this report is entirely baseless, misleading, and should not be given any credence whatsoever,” he said.
He reaffirmed his “unwavering commitment” to the leadership of Governor Fubara and expressed continued support for efforts aimed at delivering good governance to the people of Rivers State.
“My loyalty to him remains steadfast and resolute,” he added, stressing that the defection claims were “fabricated” to distract from core governance issues in the state.
The statement comes amid heightened political tensions in Rivers State, following the suspension of Governor Fubara and growing speculation over shifting alliances within the state’s political landscape.
