The Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba has recommended the suspension of embattled Nigerian super cop Abba Kyari.
Usman Baba made the recommendation to the Police Service Commission, on Thursday.
Spokesperson of the force, Frank Mba disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.
Kyari, a deputy Commissioner of Police have been indicted by an American court for alleged involvement in a $1.1m Internet fraud with Ramon Abbas popularly known as Hushpuppi.
“The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc (+), NPM, fdc has recommended the immediate suspension of DCP Abba Kyari, the Head of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), from the Service of the Nigeria Police Force, pending the outcome of ongoing internal investigations touching on him,” he said.
