There seems to be no end in the crises rocking the APC in Rivers state as the Acting Chairman of the party, Igo Aguma has accused a factional group loyal to the Hon. Minister of Transportation, led by Sokonte Davies of rebelling against President Muhammadu Buhari and the national leadership of the party.
Aguma said, “it is an affront and highly rebellious for Davies and his splinter group to continue to dare the court, President Buhari, and the national caretaker committee of the party by taking further divisive steps to destroy APC in Rivers State.”
Aguma, who was declared acting chairman of the party in the state by a State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt few weeks ago, made this known in a statement yesterday.
Igo Aguma noted that he has informed the National Caretaker Committee of their efforts to acquire a neutral secretariat for the party in the state where all factions will be comfortable to visit. This is because the two factional secretariats in the state cannot be accessed by all party members.
He said the national caretaker committee was also informed about the need to set up an independent committee to broker peace and reconciliation among the two factions in the party.
