Former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi says it would be unfair to other ethnic groups for an Ikwerre man to aspire to rule the State again come 2023.
Amaechi, who stated this when leaders of Ogu/Bolo visited him in Port Harcourt, over the weekend said any other ethnic group should contest in 2023 apart from an Ikwerre Man or Woman.
He said the Ikwerre ethnic nationality have had their turn over and over again and it was only right for another ethnic group to take over leadership of the State.
The former governor also said he is doing everything possible to see that power rotates amongst ethnic groups in the state.
“If Wike is bringing an Ikwerre man to run for governorship when an Ikwerre man has run for 16 years it means that Ikwerre would dominate the governorship of the state. It means that you will never have a chance of being governor again…,” he said.
“If you people allow them and they succeed, then forget your children, they will never be governor again because all it will take is when he finishes, another Ikwerre man will say I will run o and go and tell Ikwerre people I’m your son, don’t allow these people take it from me and Ikwerre people will back him,” he added
