The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has condemned the move by some leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to oust the Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, and National Secretary, Sam Anyanwu, despite court rulings against such actions.
Speaking during a media chat in Abuja on Sunday, Wike blamed certain PDP leaders for the party’s struggles, citing their actions and rhetoric as contributing to its stagnation.
He specifically accused Adolphus Wabara, Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, of fueling internal crises within the party. Wike further criticized Wabara’s role, stating that if Wabara were his father, he would have publicly disowned him.
“If Wabara were my father, I would have disowned him. He doesn’t deserve to be a leader. No wonder Obasanjo made a presidential broadcast about his acts of corruption.”
“It doesn’t bother me at all. The matter is in the hands of the courts, and the party constitution is clear,” he said.
The Minister’s remarks come amid ongoing tensions within the PDP as it grapples with leadership disputes and internal divisions.
