Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, says he is ready to quit as Governor if it will bring peace and harmony to the State.
Governor Matawalle who disclosed this in an interview yesterday, said he is ready to accept anything that will bring peace to the state.
“I am ready to accept any solution that will bring security to my state,” he said
“I am not intimidated. If I know that my resigning as a governor will make the people sleep with their two eyes closed, I can resign. I am ready to do what will bring security. I am not power-hungry. I have been having sleepless nights to protect the people of Zamfara State,” he added.
The Federal Government recently declared a ‘No-Fly Zone’ in the state, due to the high rate of crime and criminality in the area. A move which has been criticized by the main opposition party.
The People’s Democratic Party has alleged that the Federal Government is planning to declare a state of Emergency in Zamfara.
