The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences in Rivers State has said that the court injunction stopping it from investigating officials of the state government, is a hindrance to the fight against corruption.

State commissioner of the commission, Chukwurah Alex made the disclosure in a chat with news correspondents in Port Harcourt yesterday.

He stated that as long as the order exists, the commission cannot investigate any of the officials irrespective of what they do.

He appealed to Civil society organizations and Non-governmental organizations to support the commission as they try to vacate the restraining order.

The state commissioner also noted that the ICPC is already inter-facing with the various institutions to support them in the struggle.
