The Federal Government of Nigeria, says the N2.2 billion James Ibori loot about to be returned by the UK government, will not be given to the Delta State Government.
Abubakar Malami, SAN, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, made this known in a statement, yesterday.
He said the money will be used in the construction of projects across the country, as the Federal government is committed to ensuring transparent management of all recovered loot.
Meanwhile, the UK government has said that stolen assests are not welcomed in the United Kingdom.
Ms Catriona Laing, British High Commissioner to Nigeria, disclosed this on Tuesday, during a meeting between the UK and the government of Nigeria, to sign a Moemorandum of understanding for the refund of the Ibori loot.
She said the return of the stolen money to Nigeria, has been subjected to series of legal challenges by third parties which were defeated in the law courts of the UK.
