The Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral (Rtd) Ibok Ete Ekwe Ibas, has pledged to restore vandalised infrastructure across the state within the limits of available resources.
During an inspection tour on Friday, Ibas visited ongoing road projects and damaged facilities in Khana and Eleme Local Government Areas, including the Nyhokhana-Kenkhana and Zakphor-Bateem roads, as well as the recently inaugurated Bori Zonal Hospital.
Describing the extent of destruction at local government secretariats as “disheartening,” Ibas emphasized the need to rebuild trust and ensure functional infrastructure to support governance and public service delivery.
“We owe the people the duty to keep these facilities in order. We are committed to fixing them despite limited resources,” he said.
Ibas also reaffirmed plans to complete the State House of Assembly and urged local leaders to manage resources responsibly, stressing that improved infrastructure would boost commerce and reduce civil unrest.
