Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has declared that he will retire from active politics after completing his tenure as governor, firmly dismissing speculations about any future political ambitions.
Speaking on his political future, Governor Otti said he has no intention of seeking the presidency, vice presidency, or a senatorial seat after leaving office.
According to him, his entry into politics was driven by a clear mission, which he intends to accomplish before stepping aside.
“I have said it before, and I want to say it again, that by the time I am done with governorship, I will retire. So I do not have presidential ambition, nor vice-presidential ambition. I also do not have senatorial ambition when I finish with the governorship,” Otti said.
The governor added that once he delivers on the mandate given to him by the people of Abia State, he will hand over to a new generation of leaders. “I came on a mission, and when I deliver that mission, I will give way for younger people,” he stated.
Otti’s remarks underscore his commitment to focused governance and leadership renewal, as his administration continues to pursue reforms aimed at transforming Abia State.
