Victor Osimhen has broken his silence over his controversial departure from Napoli in 2024, revealing that he felt the club treated him “like a dog.”
In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, the 27-year-old striker explained that tensions with Napoli escalated in late 2023 after the club’s TikTok account posted videos mocking him. The situation worsened following a missed penalty in a Serie A match, when Napoli’s official TikTok page shared a clip ridiculing the miss.
The backlash intensified after scrutiny uncovered an older video with racist undertones, which referred to Osimhen’s head as a “coconut,” further straining his relationship with the club.
Osimhen subsequently joined Turkish giants Galatasaray on loan, before making the move permanent.
