Former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has stated that he was the first and only governor to employ over 13,200 teachers in Nigeria when he occupied office.

Amaechi stated this in Port Harcourt yesterday during a ceremony to welcome some persons who defected to the APC from the PDP in the state.

He noted that he started the Banana and Songhai farms in the state, not because he wants to eat Banana but because he wanted to create employment for the ordinary Rivers man.

He also went on to commend the decampees, Hon. Micheal West, Barr. Chima Obina and others for dumping the PDP for the APC.
