Olanipekun Olukoyede, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), revealed on Thursday that he rejected offers from government officials totaling N500 million during his mother’s funeral in 2019.
Olanipekun, made this known at the 38th Anti-Corruption Situation Room in Abuja. He stated that substantial gifts, including cheques and drafts, were sent to him by ministers, directors, MDAs, and other high-ranking government officials.
Olukoyede noted that he was serving as the Secretary of the commission at the time he buried his mother.
