Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, has denied saying that the National and State Assembly members were plotting against him.
The governor, during the inauguration of the newly built official quarters of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly on Thursday, said he was misquoted.
Wike, explained that he only said he knows what some of them were doing as he urged contributors of newspaper pages to show good understanding of spoken expression when reporting.
“I never said so. I said some Assembly people, I know what they’re doing,” he said.
“There’s a difference between National Assembly and some members of the National Assembly. There is difference between State Assembly and some members of State Assembly. Those of you writing in the newspaper, I never said National Assembly. Some people don’t understand that simple grammar,” Wike added.
