Former Governor of Rivers State and Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi says he has never requested for or collected any money as pension from the Rivers State Government, since he left office.
Amaechi, who made this known in a statement, today, said he does not believe it is normal for him to receive pension while serving as a minister.
He stated that even if he is offered pension, he will decline and request that the money be given to pensioners in the state.
“I have never requested for or collected one kobo as pension from Rivers State Government. If offered, I will politely decline and request that the money should be given to Rivers State pensioners,” he said.
“I do not believe that I should receive pension as an ex-governor while serving as a Minister,” he added.
