- Says Etche people stands firm with the FCT Minister
The Executive Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Dr. Obinna Anyanwu, DSSRS says he has done “extremely well” for the development of the people and the area.
He stated this on Tuesday in Obibi community, at the commissioning of Obibi Central Market, in line with his “one ward, one project initiative”.
The chairman noted that despite the many challenges facing governance, he has done his best since he assumed office in June 2018.
Dr. Anyanwu explained that with his administration’s vision in delivering people oriented projects across the nineteen political wards of Etche, he has proven naysayers wrong about his performance.
He pledged to deliver all projects despite the withholding of local governments allocation by the Rivers state government.
Anyanwu assured the people of his continued service to attract more democracy dividends.
The chairman of Etche commended the people of Obibi community for embracing the peace pact initiated by his administration which he said made the market project a reality.
On the support for the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, Dr. Anyanwu declared that the support base of the minister in Etche is unshakable.
According to him, Etche people are grateful for the developmental strides of Minister Wike in the area during his eight years as governor.
Obinna Anyanwu thanked his leader, Nyesom Wike for playing a vital role in serving his people as a two-time local government chairman.
Inaugurating the project, a former Special Adviser to the former Rivers state governor, Hon. Andy Nwanjoku commended Dr. Anyanwu for surpassing the expectations of the people.
Nwanjoku who described the new market as befitting, admonished the people to keep clean and safeguard the new market.
The PDP caretaker chairman in Etche LGA, Hon. Reginald Onwuka, praised the efforts of the Anyanwu led-administration in handling the local government affairs.
Councilor of Obibi/Akwukabi Ward 9, Cllr. Uzondu Egbegbu, thanked the chairman for delivering the market project, which he described as one of the very best in Etche.
The Obibi central market comprises of lock up shops, open stalls, office, security post and toilet facilities.
