The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has alleged that the Chairperson of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Beatrice Itubor is a politician fighting the state government.
The Governor, made the allegation during the commissioning of the newly built Secretariat of the Trade Union Congress, in the state, few days ago.
Wike said he had always told Mrs. Itubor to come to the state government, whenever there are issues, so they can be resolved but all to no avail.
He noted that the state government pulled out of negotiation with labour in the state, because they went public with issues, instead of coming to them for dialogue.
The Governor, also revealed that he has been praying for the union to go on strike, so their salaries can be used to construct more flyovers in the state.
He also berated the organized labour for failing to protect the interest of their members and Nigerians, despite the incessant hike in fuel price and electricity tariff.
