Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has said that he does not play politics with friendship, as his friends can be in any political party of their choice and they will still relate as friends.
Wike said this during the foundation laying ceremony for the construction of Ahoada Campus of the Rivers State University, which was performed by Hon. Chibudom Nwuche and Sen. Osinachukwu Ideozu of the All Progressives Congress, on Wednesday.
He said despite the fact that Chibudom Nwuche is of the APC, he decided to bring him to lay the foundation, because he is an elder statesman.
“We brought Chibudom Nwuche to perform the foundation stone laying ceremony not because he is a member of PDP but because he is an elder Statesman,” he said.
“He is still a member of APC but we’re not here for politics, rather for development,” he added.
Wike stated that Senator Osinakachukwu Ideozu is also his friend and that his defection to APC, did not stop their friendship, as he does not play politics with friendship.
He said: “When Senator Ideozu was going to APC I told him that nothing will come out and up till now, different appointments has come and gone , nothing come out.
“But his moving to APC didn’t stop our friendship, of course we are still relating very well but many persons don’t know,” he further explained.
