Award-winning Nigerian singer and songwriter, Tiwa Savage, has revealed that she would not mind being a second wife if it means finding true companionship.
Speaking on the American podcast Lip Service, the Afrobeats star disclosed that most of the men who show interest in her are either much older or already married.
“I’m like a sugar mummy, but I don’t want to be,” Tiwa said jokingly. “If I meet someone who’s serious about marriage, they’re usually in their 50s or already taken. So maybe I can just be a second wife. I think I could handle that.”
The singer, who is also a mother of one, added that if she ever found herself in such a situation, she would maintain peace and mutual respect.
“I can get along with the first wife; she’ll probably love me,” she said. “I won’t cause any trouble. I’m always respectful and would acknowledge that she’s the first wife.”
Tiwa Savage was previously married to her former manager, Tunji Balogun (TBillz), in 2013, but the marriage ended in 2018 following a public fallout. Since their split, the “Somebody’s Son” crooner has continued to focus on her music career, earning global recognition as one of Africa’s leading female artists.
