Former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, has declared that he did not steal public funds during his time in office, contrasting himself with his successor, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
In a statement released on Thursday, Amaechi said he left government without any blemish and did not acquire properties like Wike. He maintained that his legacy in office was marked by impactful development projects.
According to him, his administration as Governor of Rivers State built schools in every village and ensured free education from primary to secondary level. He added that over 13,000 teachers were employed to improve the quality of education in the state.
Amaechi also highlighted his achievements as Transportation Minister, noting that he built rail infrastructure that connected the northern and southern regions of the country.
