Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared that his approach to leadership amid the state’s prolonged political tensions is rooted in strength and deliberate restraint, not weakness.
Speaking while receiving the Man of the Year 2025 award from New Telegraph at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos, the governor said his calm and non-aggressive posture in the face of provocation was often misunderstood.
He explained that his decisions were guided by the need to sustain peace and protect democratic institutions, stressing that choosing dialogue and stability over confrontation should not be seen as weakness.
According to him, leadership requires patience, strategy, and sacrifice, especially during periods of political turbulence, adding that history ultimately vindicates principled choices.
Fubara dedicated the recognition to the people of Rivers State, his family, and key political supporters who stood by him through difficult times.
