Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, says his administration is doing everything possible to see that the ruling All Progressives Congress does not exist in the State.
Wike said this in a statement on Monday, while reacting to allegations against him by former Governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu.
Aliyu had accused Wike of being behind the problems in the PDP, as he called on the party leadership to suspend him from the party.
But, the Rivers State Governor dismissed Aliyu’s claims describing it as childish.
“Ask Aliyu if he can do the same in Niger State. If there is election today, can he make PDP to win in Niger state? As I speak to you, no state congress has been held in Niger state. It is because of his dictatorial tendency,” he said.
He said the reason why Aliyu has recently embarked on a campaign of calumny against him is because he refused to invite him to commission some of his legacy projects in the State.
Wike stated that only incumbent and former Governors who have delivered, or are delivering democratic dividends in their states are qualified to inaugurate projects in Rivers State.
“If Aliyu says he will leave PDP today, nobody will shake, nobody will even bother. But I say I will leave PDP tomorrow, you will know the consequences ,” he further added.
