Factional Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Edison Ehie says he is not afraid of death following the attempted invasion of his residence on Sunday night.
Ehie who made this known while addressing journalists yesterday in Port Harcourt said if sacrificing his life would bring victory to Rivers State, then he is ready to do so.
He reiterated that the former Camp Commandant of the State Government House identified as Mr. London led the attack on his residence which he linked to the political crisis rocking the state.
According to him, there have been ceaseless threats to his life and that of his family for standing behind Governor, Siminialayi Fubara and Rivers people.
He also said they have uncovered plots to plant weapons in his house in Ahoada and link him to the gruesome murder of late Ahoada DPO SP Bako Angbashim, despite the fact that he does not represent the community where the officer was killed.
He commended security operatives for arresting some of the killers of Angbashim, and called on the Inspector General of Police and the Commissioner of Police to properly investigate the officers fingered in the attack on his home.
Ehie noted that no form of intimidation from any quarter would stop him from supporting Gov. Fubara, adding that good must reign over evil in the state.
He also thanked his constituents and Rivers people in general for standing by him; his colleagues and the state governor.
