Instagram influencer and alleged fraudster, Ramoni Abbas popularly known as Hushpuppi has been transferred from Chicago to California to face trial.
Hushpuppi who was arrested few weeks in Dubai by the Interpol is alleged to have defrauded over 1 million persons across the globe, the sum of N168 billion.
Hushpuppi had been denied bail by a Chicago court, which ordered that he remains in detention till his next trial date later in the year. He was moved from Chicago to California on Tuesday July 14, as confirmed by transfer documents signed by the Clerk of the U.S Court in Chicago. Thomas G. Bruton.
Gal Pissetzky, Hushpuppi’s lawyer in his defense had revealed that his client’s job as an Instagram socialite is what pays for his luxurious mansion which costs $10,000 monthly in Dubai.
