Hoodlums have reportedly attacked some Journalists carrying out their legitimate duty at Rumuagholu in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Rivers State.
According to sources, the incident happened few days ago, while the journalists were in the community for a media briefing on a disputed piece of land.
The journalists, also alleged that officers of the Anti-kidnapping Unit of the State Police Command, aided the attackers to unleash terror on them.
The victims, which comprises of journalists from RSTV, Today FM, Arise Tv, Sweet Crude, Surveillance Newspaper, and others, said the attackers left with the Police when they finished the assault.
One of the journalists said they had made an entry at the state Police Command, and that Spokesperson of the force, Nnamdi Omoni has promised to get to the root of the incident.
They called on the Police to immediately unravel those behind the attacks, or meet them in court.
