There are unconfirmed reports that the corpse of the late Executive Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, Odiari Princewill who passed on few days ago, has been exhumed by gunmen from the Port Harcourt cemetery.
According to the report, eyewitnesses who pleaded anonymity, confirmed the incident to journalists. They said the corpse was exhumed by heavily armed men believed to be from the late Odiari’s community. It is believed that his kinsmen are not happy over the way and manner their son was buried.
An eyewitness stated that the gunmen numbering about ten, walked into the cemetery and started digging out the corpse which they carted away. It is believed that they want to give the chairman a befitting burial. They shot sporadically in the air, leaving residents and staff of the cemetery to scamper for their lives, he asserted.
Meanwhile, there are reports that the state government has redeployed heavily armed security personnel to Buguma. This is to stop the entrance of the corpse into the community. Police PRO in the state when contacted by journalists said he is yet to confirm the incident.
