In a bid to ease and eliminate obstacles patients experience when trying to access basic healthcare services, the Federal Ministry of Health has called for a partnership with the Rivers State Health Ministry on training of healthcare workers on self-care services and capacity building.
Dr. Gabriel Ortonga, Assistant Director, Family Planning Services made the call during a meeting with stakeholders in the health sector in Port Harcourt, on Thursday.
According to him, the move was necessary to eliminate obstacles patients face in assesing healthcare.
The Rivers State Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Ndidi Chikanele Utchay on her part welcomed the intiative.
