Unknown Gunmen have reportedly attacked two Police checkpoints along Airport Road, Omagwa, and the Nigerian Customs Checkpoints at Isiokpo in Ikwerre Local Government Area, leaving over five security operatives dead.
The two incidents, according to reports took place at about 11:00 pm on Saturday.
The attackers believed to be members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, were said to have entered the state through the border towns in Imo State.
The Rivers State Police Command is yet to release an official statement, on the incident.
Spokesperson for the state police command, Nnamdi Omoni said an official statement would soon be released.
