The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of six worshippers from a Celestial Church located along the Uso/Owo Expressway in Owo Local Government Area.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, stated in a Wednesday release that the incident occurred in the early hours of February 25, at approximately 12:50 a.m.
Jimoh explained that the victims were reportedly taken to an unknown location by the attackers.
“Upon receiving the report, operatives of the command, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army and local vigilante groups, immediately mobilised to the scene and commenced coordinated rescue operations,” he said.
The police assured that efforts are ongoing to safely rescue the abducted worshippers and bring the perpetrators to justice.
