Five persons have been reportedly kidnapped along the Port Harcourt to Bonny waterway by unknown gunmen.
Chairman of the Nigerian Maritime Union, Bonny unit, Henry Jumbo disclosed this in a chat with journalists, shortly after the incident on Tuesday.
He said five out of eighteen passengers were whisked away by the heavily armed men who attacked a passenger boat.
Henry, who condemned the incessant abduction of passengers on the waterway, said the whereabout of the abductees is still unknown
He called on security operatives to ensure their unconditional release and also ensure adequate security on the waterway.
