SDP Guber candidate in the just concluded governorship election in Rivers State, Sen. Magnus Abe has alleged that thumbprinting of ballot papers is still going on in the state to match figures that were declared.
Speaking to journalists in Port Harcourt Today, Abe said election materials in different units across the state were hijacked by security operatives to unknown destinations.
He said the people of Ogoni were disenfranchised as elections did not hold in Ogoni land and so many other places.
Abe, alleged that over 100 members of the party, including candidates and agents were arrested during the polls.
He said while persons who were arrested with guns, BVAS and other election materials were released, members of the party who committed no crime were taken to State CID.
He recalled an incident where the state Commissioner of Police ordered the arrest of an agent of the party after he identified himself. This was after he had asked him to go without knowing that he was of the SDP.
The former lawmaker, also said a member of the party was arrested for vote-buying, stressing that he did not release a dime to anyone for the purpose of elections.
He furthermore said four persons were killed in Ahoada East LGA, including two of members of the party who resisted ballot box snatching in the presence of security operatives.
He also said everybody saw what happened in the state, and that Nigeria as a nation can do better, adding that he still believes in Nigeria.
