Yesterday the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim welcomed the new Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps to Rivers State.
“One will gladly say we are blessed to have somebody like you now at the helm of affairs here in the State. Like you mentioned, I am a member of the family, all you have said here is like talking to a family person.” He said.
The Honourable Commissioner lauded the new number initiative, adding that it will generate revenue for the state as well as ensure its citizens will be updated adhering to the rules of the FRSC.
He further stated that the administration of His Excellency, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike is committed to ensuring that federal agencies get adequate support from the state.
“Rivers State under the able leadership of His Excellency, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has demonstrated quite clearly that supporting federal agencies is not a challenge.
That’s why the other day when we were talking I said I hope you met the brand new vehicles that were given to you as part of building the security architecture in the State.
“His Excellency Nyesom Ezenwo Wike understands that synergy between the State government and federal agencies will promote rapid development and progress.
So he is always willing to support federal agencies, including yours. So whatever vision and plan you have, as long as they are for the betterment of the society, be rest assured that you have a worthy partner in His Excellency.
“This Ministry will be willing to support you by driving your vision here in the State. This is the Ministry of Information, we have by God’s grace, two radio stations owned by the state, a television station and newspaper house.
So be rest assured that in driving your vision for Rivers State, you already have a partner and a willing ally in the Ministry of Information. All the various platforms in the State will be readily available to support you,” he added.
Pastor Nsirim said the ministry will support in the aspect of public enlightenment, explaining that accidents are caused by people who have refused to obey the safety regulations of the FRSC and that is why enlightening the public is essential.
“Be rest assured we will support your office to succeed. Our office is always open,” he promised.
Earlier, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Su Galadunci had praised the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim for performing wonderfully as a Special Marshall.
He stated that paying courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner as well as other relevant stakeholders in the state is mandatory as he has come to serve the people of Rivers State, resuming few months ago.
“The aim and mission of His Excellency is what we must work together to achieve.
I have already gone round and identified areas of interests from here to the refinery in Eleme.
I have identified the traffic also for the people, especially in Port Harcourt, which I hope to correct,” he added.
Galadunci encouraged the populace to update their number plates, as Rivers State can now boast of a mini number plate initiative and drivers licence to meet the current standard set by the agency as well as generate revenue for the office, the state and its environs, as motorists from neighbouring states will visit the state to update theirs.
He said Port Harcourt is a beautiful city that should be maintained by ridding it of bad driving.
