The Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo, has predicted a landslide victory for Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara in the 2027 elections.
Speaking on Monday while hosting the ‘Simplified Academics’ at the council headquarters in Rumuodomaya, Ihunwo stated that 98% of Rivers people, including Obio/Akpor residents, support Fubara due to his leadership and developmental efforts.
He accused former Governor and current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, of attempting to control the state by proxy, insisting that Rivers is “too big for one man to pocket.” Ihunwo also criticized Hon. Martin Amaewhule and 26 lawmakers opposing Fubara, claiming they are politically struggling while the governor “looks fresh and young.”
The “Simplified Academicis” led by Professor Akuro Gobo, reaffirmed their support for Fubara, urging political rivals to unite for the state’s progress.
